Adiam Tesfaselassie is a 2nd year Master of Science student in the Data Science and Analytics program at Georgetown University. She is a Colorado State University Alumna, where she studied Sociology and Economics. Adiam is also an Alumna of the American Economic Association Summer Program.
Adiam Tesfaselassie is a Policy & Data Analyst at the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality. She conducts policy research and data analysis on projects related to market power, food assistance programs, and postsecondary education. Previously, Adiam was a Research Assistant at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. She worked on projects related to the status of women in the states, women and wealth accumulation, and the future of work and examined how these topics intersected with racial and economic disparities.
Adiam plans to use machine learning tools to solve the most pressing problems in education, health care, and the overall economy. She is dedicated to uplifting innovations that promote equity in our society. Adiam is particularly passionate about mentoring Black and Brown youth in STEM.
